Life-sized, stuffed Henry Hudson is a partnership project of the Upper Hudson Library system, linking public libraries and families with local and regional history, and the Albany County Convention & Visitors Bureau. |
|
The UHLS portion of the project is part of a grant supported by Federal Library Services and Technology Act funds, awarded to the New York State Library by the Federal Institute of Museum and Library Sciences. |

In honor of the 1609 historic voyage led by explorer Henry Hudson, the Albany Heritage Area Visitors Center has created a paper version of Historic Henry to begin a new journey of discovery. 1. Download Historic Henry and his journal sheet for this website. 2. Mount him on cardboard, cut him out, color him with crayons or markers...create your own special Henry. 3. Take Historic Henry on four journeys to local places and spaces in and around Albany such as museums, historical sites, parks, etc. and take a picture of Henry at each location. 4. Use the journal sheet to keep track of Henry’s travels, including date, location, and Henry’s personal notes. 5. After four journeys, bring Historic Henry, his photos, and his journal sheet to the Albany Heritage Area Visitors Center (directions follow) to receive a prize. |
